Let's Talk Wedding Photos
Let’s talk wedding photos!
When planning your wedding, there are going to be details (big or small) that are super important to you and others that, though important, aren’t on the top priority list. For me, besides our venue, our photographer and photos were on top of that list. We did our research, narrowed it down to a couple of photographers, met with one in person, fell in love and never looked back (Moments by McMahon - check him out if you haven’t already). Having seen Anthony’s style and creativity in photos on his Instagram, I knew he’d capture our big day perfectly without having to put in any input; but after we met, he suggested we start compiling types of photos we knew we absolutely wanted taken.
It’s important to remember that your photographer will have you covered with those traditional shots that won’t need any discussion (they are the professionals after all!). These shots include your invitation, your shoes, getting ready, group shots, family shots, first dance and so much more; but if there are those “out-of-the-box” shots you want or anything specific you MUST have, make a list and save sample shots to share with him or her (TIP: When I would scroll through social media, I would save posts to an album right on Instagram so it was easy to access and I had all of my inspiration in one place).
To give you an example, here’s what our “must have” photos were:
Confetti Cannons
Sparkler send-off
Entire party on dance floor looking up at the balcony, surrounding bride and groom
Decor shots (centerpieces, invitation, programs, etc.)
There weren’t many that we absolutely needed but we wanted to make sure we did capture these four shots. Everything else you see below came to life because of Anthony’s creativity. We were so lucky to work with him and honored he captured our big day (and I know you’ll feel the same way about your photographer too!).
